FAQs

How do I build this software?

The sources are C99 and POSIX.1-2008 compliant, so they can be compiled on the vast majority of target platforms. However, the Makefile provided assumes that you are using GNU Make, as well a recent version of GCC on Linux (x86). If that is not the case, it is up to you to make the necessary modifications.

libsodium and its development headers must be installed. On Fedora, it is sufficient to install libsodium-devel from the system package repositories.

Do not attempt to run the utility on systems that do not implement POSIX, as Atropates relies on defined system behaviour to enforce correctness properties.

The options parsing isn't very good

I know, but I hate getopt() and friends. I'll come up with a more elegant solution for the next release.
